About The Position

At St. Tammany Health System, the Laboratory Technical Supervisor supervises technical activities and laboratory workers performing moderate- and high-complexity clinical laboratory procedures in assigned specialty sections. The position exercises independent judgment and decision-making in laboratory medicine and participates in employee performance evaluations, counseling, and commendations. The supervisor serves as a role model for supervised staff and complies with the organization’s C.A.R.E.S. standards.

The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with rotating weekends. The current schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility for a day shift between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.; the schedule is open for discussion.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• National Board Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist.
• Current or temporary Louisiana license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist (CLS-G).
• At least 4 years of full-time laboratory experience.
• Good physical health and ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to work with a moderate level of noise.
