About The Position

The Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor directs the technical aspects of the Microbiology Laboratory, formulates technical goals, establishes practice standards, and recommends policies that comply with regulatory requirements and corporate guidelines. The role administers initial and ongoing competency programs, ensures the laboratory is prepared for regulatory inspections, and supervises laboratory staff on a day-to-day basis. The position is based at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with rotation one of every seven weekends.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree.
MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent credentials.
Minimum of five years of laboratory experience.
Six years of experience as a supervisor or in increasingly responsible positions.
Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory regulatory requirements.
Visual and auditory acuity to use laboratory equipment and instrumentation safely and effectively and to evaluate data accurately.
State of Nevada General Supervisor license, or obtain it within six months of hire if not already licensed.
