MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist: 40 Hours Per Week (Midnights)
About The Position
Ascension Alexian Brothers is seeking a Laboratory Scientist for their facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position working 40 hours per week on the midnight shift (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM), with weekend and holiday rotation. They are one of the largest integrated laboratory networks serving hospitals in the Midwest region, with a network that includes 32 hospitals and multiple physician offices.
Requirements
- MLT: Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- MT: Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
- Or Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.
Responsibilities
- Specimen processing
- Test performance
- Reporting test results
- Performing waived, moderate and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director
- Reporting results of all tests performed according to established procedures
- Participating fully in all quality control procedures
- Complying with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies
- Performing specimen collection as necessary
