About The Position

This is a full-time onsite role that will keep critical laboratory equipment connected, reliable, and ready to support life science operations. As a Lab Equipment Specialist - Monitoring, you’ll turn WATTIQ data and alerts into action, collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, and support equipment deployments and lifecycle activities.

Requirements

  • Experience with any monitoring software (Elemental Machines, Vaisala, etc.)
  • Experience reading and following work instructions

  • Comfortable with technical skills in MS office suite

  • Must follow OSHA guidelines in regard to blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, radiation, sharp instruments and/or tools, hazardous liquids, and operating devices
  • Ontime completion of safety training assignments
  • Must have sensory ability to distinguish hot & cold ranges of temperature, surfaces, fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and detect/distinguish colors
  • Must be able be able to carry or lift up to 50 pounds routinely

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in BSL1 and BSL2 labs, preferred
  • Knowledge of category 1 lab equipment, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily health checks of system hardware, software, device connectivity, and overall WATTIQ system status
  • Monitor sensors, alerts, alarms, and threshold breaches; follow up on offline sensors, missed alerts, nuisance alarms, and other problem units to identify risks and root causes
  • Analyze WATTIQ data to assess equipment health, instrument efficiency, utilization, and performance trends
  • Coordinate follow-up actions with Vertex stakeholders and end users based on monitoring data, including maintenance needs for cold storage units
  • Support issue resolution by partnering with Renovo engineering, WATTIQ support, Facilities, and other cross-functional teams
  • Manage escalation policies, support response workflows, and scheduling for off-hours support rotations
  • Attend functional group office hours and provide day-to-day operational support
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date system information in WATTIQ, including device records and assignments
  • Support new device ordering, large-scale rollouts, deployments, and device lifecycle changes, including adds, removals, relocations, and assignments
  • Confirm devices are installed correctly and communicating properly within the system
  • Verify end-user accounts and access are properly set up in WATTIQ and Squadcast
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through audits and verification of existing assets and manage on-site parts inventory/supply needs
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for WATTIQ and provide training to Renovo and Vertex staff
  • Support dashboard development and provide additional project support as needed, including relocation-related activities
