Laboratory Assistant - Full Time Nights
About The Position
The Laboratory Assistant supports night laboratory operations by loading samples onto chemistry, hematology, and urinalysis instrumentation; monitoring and replenishing instrument supplies; storing specimens; investigating missing specimens; and processing add-on samples. The assistant may also help the processing department according to workload and staffing needs. This is a full-time night position at Texas Health Physicians Group in Euless, Texas. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., for 40 hours per week. The laboratory describes its environment as team-based, collaborative, and grounded in lean principles, with an emphasis on individual performance and highly engaged management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
- Familiarity with basic medical and laboratory terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- One year of phlebotomist or medical assistant experience in a high-volume testing laboratory.
- One year of data entry experience.
Responsibilities
- Load laboratory samples onto chemistry, hematology, and urinalysis instrumentation.
- Monitor instrument consumables and load reagents and cleaners as needed during the night.
- Store specimens at the end of the night using SSR.
- Investigate missing specimens during the night.
- Process or pull add-on samples.
- Assist the processing department based on volume and staffing needs.
