About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Laboratory Assistant to support daily laboratory operations in the Emergency Department. The role includes preparing, collecting, and processing biological specimens and related supplies, and may involve entering laboratory orders and results. The Laboratory Assistant helps ensure laboratory data is accurate and maintains a safe, clean, organized, efficient, and professional work environment. The position is scheduled for 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, and requires work every third weekend.

High school diploma or GED preferred.
May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
Phlebotomy experience.
Experience in a laboratory-related field.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens and related supplies according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
Collect, prepare, and process biological specimens; responsibilities include phlebotomy.
Help ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of laboratory data.
Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional work environment.
Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
May enter laboratory orders and results.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support laboratory operations.
