Laboratory Assistant (Straight Nights)
About The Position
Sanford Health is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Laboratory Assistant to support daily laboratory operations in the Emergency Department. The role includes phlebotomy and collecting, preparing, and processing biological specimens, as well as preparing laboratory supplies. The assistant may enter laboratory orders and results and helps ensure laboratory data is accurate and high quality while maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and professional work environment. The position is scheduled for 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, and requires working every third weekend.
Requirements

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Experience in a laboratory-related field.
Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory specimens and related supplies according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Perform phlebotomy and collect, prepare, and process biological specimens.
- Help ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of laboratory data.
- May enter laboratory orders and results.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support laboratory operations.
