About The Position

Texas Health Physicians Group is hiring a full-time Laboratory Assistant for its laboratory department in Euless, Texas. The position works nights, Monday through Friday, from 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., for 40 hours per week. The Laboratory Assistant loads samples onto chemistry, hematology, and urinalysis instruments; monitors instrument consumables and replenishes reagents and cleaners; stores specimens using SSR; investigates missing specimens; processes add-on samples; and assists the processing department according to volume and staffing needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
Familiarity with basic medical and laboratory terminology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

One year of phlebotomist or medical assistant experience in a high-volume testing laboratory.
One year of data-entry experience.

Responsibilities

Load laboratory samples onto instrumentation for chemistry, hematology, and urinalysis.
Monitor instrument consumables and load reagents and cleaners as needed during the night.
Store specimens at the end of the night using SSR.
Investigate missing specimens during the night.
Process and pull add-on samples.
Assist the processing department based on volume and staffing needs.
