About The Position
As a Laboratory Aide at Monroe Regional Hospital, you will collect patient samples for laboratory screenings, maintain inventory, and distribute supplies as a member of the Clinical Laboratory team. The role includes working with neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in the laboratory outpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or emergency room. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy program or previous experience, with the ability to demonstrate phlebotomy skills before employment.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in the laboratory outpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or emergency room.
- Label specimens and transport them to the laboratory for testing.
- Prepare urine specimens.
- Maintain supply inventory and notify leadership when supplies are needed.
- Assist with charting and filing laboratory slips.
- Answer the telephone.
- Help maintain the laboratory in a clean and orderly condition.
