About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position to teach BPS 4504 Laboratoire de bioinformatique during the 2027 Winter Semester in the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences, Faculty of Science. The course focuses on the principles of organizing, retrieving, manipulating, and analyzing molecular data in genomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics, with practical applications for solving biological questions using quantitative and computational methods. The course involves laboratory work and lectures. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The specified hourly rate is for teaching and does not include vacation or statutory pay, and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification.

Requirements

Principles of organization, retrieval, manipulation, and analysis of molecular data in genomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics.
Practical analysis of this data to solve biological questions using quantitative and computational methods.
Competence in a second language (French is the language of instruction, and active competence in a second language is required).
Completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Responsibilities
