RN - Labor/Delivery (L&D)
About The Position
The Labor and Delivery unit is equipped with 14 Labor and Delivery beds, 6 Triage beds, 2 Operating Room suites, and 28 Postpartum beds. The unit handles an average of 250 births per month and caters to diverse patient needs, including antepartum, high-risk deliveries, substance abuse, pre-eclampsia, and insulin-dependent diabetes. The unit utilizes a Fetal Heart Monitoring System (Fetal Link) and Electronic Medical Record (Cerner). This is a Level 3 Trauma facility with RT available 24/7 and Pharmacy services available 24/7. Requirements
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification (Advanced) by AWOHNN
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for Postpartum nurses
- C-section experience required, including circulating for surgeries
- 3 shifts orientation period specific to the unit
Nice To Haves
- Scrubbing experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients in labor and delivery, including antepartum, high-risk deliveries, substance abuse, pre-eclampsia, and insulin-dependent diabetes.
- Circulate for C-section surgeries.
- Potentially float to Postpartum unit.
- Adhere to AWOHNN staffing ratios (2:1 for laboring patients, 1:4 for couplet care).
