About The Position

National Vision is hiring an experienced Optical Lab Technician with hands-on experience in surfacing, finishing, and mounting. The role is in a production-driven environment where accuracy, product quality, and turnaround time are important. The technician works with optical lenses and frames, performs manufacturing and inspection tasks, and operates optical lab machinery.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with some Saturdays. Overtime may be needed until 3:30 p.m. Pay is based on experience. No specific educational level is required.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in high-volume optical manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in surfacing, finishing, and mounting.
• Precision and accuracy.
• Organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to perform intermittent focused effort.

Responsibilities

• Insert lenses into frames; edge, bevel, and tint lenses; and ensure lenses meet correct power, axis, and prism standards.
• Inspect frames and lenses for cosmetic and optical defects using ANSI standards.
• Use CNC optical machinery for lens surfacing processes, including taping, blocking, generating, coating, and polishing.
• Operate Anti-Reflective Coating machinery, sort and inspect lenses, and ensure they meet quality standards.
