About The Position

The Lab Technician conducts routine and non-routine testing of shelf-stable products and ingredients. Testing includes shelf-stable acidified, high-acid, and retorted products to verify compliance with specifications and current procedures. The role also performs finished-product and GMP line audits, communicates out-of-specification results to the operations supervisor on duty, and records test results accurately on the appropriate forms. The technician maintains and organizes the work area and completes other assigned tasks.

The scheduled shift is 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some weekends may be required based on demand.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Ability to read and understand English.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Laboratory or food science experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and non-routine testing of shelf-stable acidified, high-acid, and retorted products for compliance with specifications and current procedures.
• Conduct finished-product audits according to current procedures.
• Ensure broken-jar pallets are fixed in a timely manner.
• Read and sign laboratory procedures annually.
• Conduct line audits for GMP compliance.
• Communicate out-of-specification products to the operations supervisor on duty.
• Record accurate test results on the correct forms.
• Clean and organize the work area.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
