About The Position

National Vision is hiring an experienced Optical Lab Technician to perform surfacing, finishing, mounting, and other optical manufacturing work in a production-driven environment. The role requires a high level of precision and accuracy, with attention to turnaround time and product quality. Work is scheduled for one of two overnight patterns: Sunday through Tuesday, or Wednesday through Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.; some Saturdays may also be scheduled. Pay is based on experience.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in high-volume optical manufacturing.
• Precision and accuracy in performing optical lab work.
• Organizational and planning skills, and the ability to sustain intermittent focused effort.

Responsibilities

• Insert lenses into frames; edge, bevel, and tint lenses; and ensure lenses meet correct power, axis, and prism standards.
• Inspect frames and lenses for cosmetic and optical defects using ANSI standards.
• Use CNC optical machinery for lens surface processing.
• Perform lens surface processes including taping, blocking, generating, coating, and polishing.
• Operate anti-reflective coating machinery, sort and inspect lenses, and ensure they meet quality standards.
