About The Position

This role is for a Lab Technician (2nd Shift) in the Optical Monomer Laboratory, located within the Optical Monomer production facility in Barberton, OH. The position supports a production facility that operates 24/7/365. The technician will be responsible for running samples, troubleshooting equipment and methods, and performing various tests on products. The hours for this 2nd shift position are from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday. Holiday and weekend work, specifically Sundays, will be required due to the 24/7 nature of the production facility.

Requirements

High school diploma is required
1+ years of educational or professional experience in a lab setting

Nice To Haves

college degree is preferred
GC, HPLC, and IC chromatography test/instrumentation experience preferred

Responsibilities

Perform independently to support production by running samples and reporting results.
Troubleshoot equipment, change gas cylinders, make solutions and lift boxes of 50 lbs. or less.
Identify and utilize internal or external resources when applicable.
Established procedures and guidelines to perform routine laboratory procedures to test the quality of the organizations in- process products, finished products and environmental byproducts.
Perform routine quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis to verify process conditions.
Record results, perform calculations, and communicate to production.
Follow instructions and checklists to set-up equipment and apparatus, mix chemical solutions for use in tests and troubleshooting issues that could arise.
Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
