Lab Technician I - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Vitalant is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support its life-saving mission by handling laboratory responsibilities including blood component production, labeling, record review, and data entry. The role involves preparing blood components using processes such as centrifugation, separation, freezing, thawing, washing, storage, sterile docking, transformation, and filtration. The technician ensures products meet quality, volume, appearance, and timing requirements, labels routine and special components, and implements quarantine procedures. The position is based at 1524 West 14th Street, #120, Tempe, Arizona 85281. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday with rotating weekends, 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Training may take place on alternate schedules specified by Vitalant.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- No experience required.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Must maintain donor, patient, and employee confidentiality.
- Must have basic keyboarding skills and the ability to handle and operate laboratory equipment.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and overtime when necessary.
