Lab Technician I - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Vitalant is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support its life-saving mission by performing laboratory work involving blood component production, labeling, record review, and data entry. The role includes preparing blood components and ensuring products meet quality, volume, appearance, and time requirements. The position is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., at 717 Yosemite Street, Denver, Colorado. Compensation is $19.39–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience, with a 9% second-shift differential and an 8% weekend differential. The application deadline is 10/27/26.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED.
- No experience required.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Detail-oriented, with strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain donor, patient, and employee confidentiality.
- Basic keyboarding skills and ability to handle and operate laboratory equipment.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and overtime when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate data records and documentation.
- Prepare blood components through processes such as centrifugation, separation, freezing, thawing, washing, storage, sterile docking, transformation, and filtration.
- Ensure product quality, volume, appearance, and time requirements.
- Label routine and special components and implement quarantine procedures.
