About The Position
Vitalant is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support its life-saving mission by performing laboratory work related to blood component production. The position includes labeling, reviewing records, and entering data. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., at the Denver, Colorado location. The listed hourly rate is $19.39–$20.00, depending on experience, with shift differentials noted for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- No experience required.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Detail-oriented, with strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain donor, patient, and employee confidentiality.
- Basic keyboarding skills and ability to handle and operate laboratory equipment.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and overtime when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate data records and documentation.
- Prepare blood components using processes such as centrifugation, separation, freezing, thawing, washing, storage, sterile docking, transformation, and filtration.
- Ensure product quality, volume, appearance, and timing requirements.
- Label routine and special components and implement quarantine procedures.
