About The Position

The Lab Support Technician will report to the Hiring Manager and work with Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to support customers through customized, mission-based laboratory work and research protocols. This role is based in Springhouse, Pennsylvania, and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The hourly rate is $21.00. The role supports laboratory processes through routine preparation and handling of solvents, buffers, resins, reagent solutions, media, and chemicals; equipment maintenance and troubleshooting; supply and inventory management; recordkeeping; and maintenance of a clean room. The posting states that the role does not involve research activities or laboratory operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory environment with working knowledge of laboratory equipment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills and a professional, positive, solution-oriented attitude.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Flexibility, self-motivation, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Complete routine laboratory procedures, including preparing solvents, buffers, resins, reagent solutions, and media, and mixing chemicals.
Report timely and accurate test results according to laboratory policies and procedures.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
Store chemicals properly, dispose of chemical waste, follow safety procedures, and participate in safety programs.
Manage inventory and processes, and order laboratory supplies, including glassware and chemicals for biotech and pharmaceutical processes.
Maintain records using electronic laboratory notebooks (eLNs).
Maintain files, track orders, and process shipping requests.
Track and document chemical usage and inventory.
Restock glassware and chemicals.
Maintain a clean room to prevent contamination and protect the integrity of production.
Calibrate balances and pH meters.
Inspect laboratory safety stations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
