About The Position

The Buffer is responsible for grinding, sanding, cleaning, and polishing objects or parts to correct defects or prepare surfaces for further finishing. The role uses hand tools, power tools, and equipment controls to perform grinding and polishing work, and verifies that finished pieces meet applicable standards. The position also involves recording production and process data, trimming or deburring parts, and moving work to specified areas.

The employee is expected to meet productivity and quality goals, understand manufacturing capabilities and processes, and complete multifunctional tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment. The role requires willingness to wear a respirator mask and availability to work overtime to meet deadlines. Other duties may be assigned by the Manager.

Responsibilities

• Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or prepare surfaces for further finishing.
• Adjust, start, or stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes.
• Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
• Inspect finished work pieces, compare them to templates, and measure their dimensions to verify quality.
• Record product and process data on specified forms.
• Trim, scrape, or deburr objects or parts using hand tools and equipment.
• Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas using moving devices.
• Meet productivity and quality goals.
• Complete multifunctional tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Work overtime when needed to meet deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
