About The Position

The Buffer is responsible for grinding, sanding, cleaning, and polishing objects or parts to correct defects or prepare surfaces for further finishing. The role uses hand and power tools, operates and adjusts equipment, checks dimensions and finished-work quality, records product and process information, and moves work pieces between designated areas. The employee is expected to meet productivity and quality goals, complete multiple tasks quickly, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The role may involve wearing a respirator and working overtime to meet deadlines. Other duties may be assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

• Understanding of manufacturing capabilities, processes, and procedures.
• Ability to manage and complete multifunctional tasks quickly.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, intense environment and complete assignments.
• Willingness to wear a respirator mask.
• Availability to work overtime to meet deadlines.
• Frequently walk or stand for long periods.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand and power tools.
• Adjust, start, and stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes.
• Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure they meet grinding and polishing standards.
• Inspect finished work pieces and compare them with templates or measure their dimensions to verify quality.
• Record product and process data on specified forms.
• Trim, scrape, or deburr objects or parts using hand tools and equipment.
• Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to designated work areas using moving devices.
• Meet productivity and quality goals.
• Complete multiple tasks quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Wear a respirator mask when required.
• Work overtime to meet deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
