About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Lab Demonstrator position within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. Compensation for Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions is determined by the employee's qualifications. Employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate of $22.07 per hour. Employees with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate of $34.73 per hour. Additional duties required as part of a Teaching Assistant's role will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
Requirements
- Completion of an Honours degree in Earth Sciences (or equivalent).
- Completion of ERSC 4P61 (or equivalent) with a final grade of 75% or higher.
- Applicants must make a case that their qualifications are equivalent to those required.
- Cover letter, current resume, and seniority date must be included in the application.
- Applicants are responsible for submitting their seniority date; those who do not will be assumed to have none.
Responsibilities
- Assisting students during lab sessions.
- Grading assignments and examinations.
- Maintaining grade sheets.
- Leading local course-associated field trips.
