Lab Demonstrator ERSC 1P01 Fall D2-1
About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for a Lab Demonstrator for ERSC 1P01 for the Fall D2-1 term. Compensation for Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions is based on employee qualifications. Employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate of $22.07 per hour. Employees with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate of $34.73 per hour. Additional duties required as part of a Teaching Assistant's role will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
Requirements
- Completion of an Honours degree in Earth Sciences (or equivalent).
- Completion of ERSC 1F01 (or equivalent) with a final grade of 75% or higher.
- Successful previous experience as a teaching assistant in ERSC 1F01 (or equivalent).
- Applicants must make a case that their qualifications are equivalent to those required above. Equivalency to be determined by the Department.

Responsibilities
- Presenting lab material to students in the lab environment
- Assisting students during labs
- Assisting with grading lab reports and assignments
- Proctoring midterm and final exams
- Maintaining grade sheets for lab sections
- Entering grades into Brock grade system
- Participation in one or more Health and Safety workshops for lab demonstrators will be required by the Department.
