About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Lab Demonstrator for CHEM 1P91 in the Fall D2-8 term. Compensation for this position is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2024. Employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate of $22.07 per hour. Employees with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate of $34.73 per hour. Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The nominal workload for this position is 10 hours per week, consisting of 6 hours of demonstrating and 4 hours of marking and lab preparation. Duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The incumbent will work under the direction of the Senior Lab Instructor and is expected to be familiar with laboratory procedures, introduce the lab, demonstrate techniques, assist students, maintain safe lab conditions, prepare and clean up the lab, mark lab reports, and attend meetings as needed.
Requirements
- MSc or currently enrolled in a graduate program in Chemistry
- Completed CHEM 1P91 or an equivalent course
