Lab Demonstrator CHEM 2P42 Fall D2-6
About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Lab Demonstrator for CHEM 2P42 in the Fall D2-6 term. Compensation for this role is based on the employee's qualifications, with specific hourly rates for those without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree (undergraduate rate) and those who possess one (graduate rate). The nominal workload for this position is 10 hours per week, comprising 6 hours of demonstrating and 4 hours of marking and lab preparation. Duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The incumbent will work under the direction of the Senior Lab Instructor, be familiar with laboratory procedures, introduce the lab, demonstrate techniques, assist students, maintain safe lab conditions, prepare and clean up the lab, mark lab reports, and attend meetings as needed.
Requirements
- MSc or currently enrolled in a graduate program in Chemistry
- Completed CHEM 2P42 or an equivalent course
- Submit seniority date with application (applicants without one will be assumed not to have one)
Responsibilities
- Be familiar with laboratory procedures
- Present an introduction to the lab
- Demonstrate laboratory techniques
- Teach and assist students during the lab

- Be responsible for lab preparation and cleanup
