About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for CHEM 1P00 for the Fall D2-6 term. This position is part of CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) and involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time, including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. Compensation is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026: $23.30 per hour for those without a 4-year honours or 3-year pass degree, and $36.67 per hour for those with such a degree. Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The position is subject to course enrollments and budgetary approval. Requirements
- Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
- At least third- or fourth-year students currently enrolled in Chemistry, or who have completed a degree or equivalent
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
