About The Position

The Lab Courier picks up and delivers documents, packages, laboratory specimens, equipment, materials, and supplies within the organization and to institutional clients. The role ensures deliveries are timely, safe, and accurate and requires flexibility, reliability, and organization. The position is part-time, scheduled for 16 hours per week on Thursdays and Fridays, with variable weekends. The stated hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the shift is day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Michigan driver's license.
• Flexibility, reliability, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Pick up documents, packages, laboratory specimens, equipment, materials, and supplies from appropriate locations in a timely manner.
• Deliver documents, packages, laboratory specimens, equipment, materials, and supplies to hospital sites, outlying physician offices, and institutions in a timely manner.
• Keep the vehicle clean and advise the supervisor when repairs are needed.
• Interact with clients professionally.
• Relay client service problems to the supervisor.
• Maintain and complete a daily log, if required.
• Fill the vehicle's gas tank to prepare it for the following route.
• Use technology to provide services to customers effectively.
