About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I) to support specimen processing and laboratory operations in Miramar, Florida. The role involves entering test orders, handling and preparing specimens, and identifying or resolving specimen-related issues. No prior experience is required. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM, with rotational weekends; staffing needs may also require weekends, holidays, on-call availability, and overtime.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Flexibility to work primarily night shifts; weekends, holidays, on-call work, and overtime may be required based on staffing needs.

Previous experience in a production or medical environment.

Responsibilities

Enter test orders.
Presort specimens and pick up and deliver processed specimens to the laboratory.
Centrifuge and aliquot specimens.
Process specimens to be sent to additional facilities.
Prepare laboratory specimens for various analyses and testing.
Identify problems and, in some cases, resolve issues such as missing specimen information.
Understand the relationship between tests ordered and specimens received.
