Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I)
About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I) in Miramar, Florida, to process laboratory specimens and support diagnostic testing. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM, with rotational weekends. Most work is on the night shift; weekends, holidays, on-call work, and overtime may be required based on staffing needs. The listed pay starts at $18.33 per hour. Employees may be eligible for shift differentials and annual performance bonus compensation. Salary offers consider factors such as relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market and organizational factors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexibility to work primarily night shifts and, based on staffing needs, weekends, holidays, on-call work, and overtime.

- Previous experience in a production or medical environment.
Responsibilities
- Enter test orders and presort specimens.
- Pick up and deliver processed specimens to the laboratory.
- Centrifuge and aliquot specimens.
- Process specimens to be sent to additional facilities.
- Prepare laboratory specimens for various analyses and testing.
- Identify problems and, in some cases, resolve issues involving specimen types, such as missing information.
- Understand the relationship between tests ordered and specimens received.
