Lab Assistant - (3rd Shift - 18% Shift Differential)
About The Position
The Lab Assistant performs an important part of the patient care process by ensuring laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and stored. The role involves recognizing when corrective action is needed and implementing effective solutions, while championing safety, compliance, and quality control. Work takes place in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and required personal protective equipment (PPE). The position is based in Dallas, Texas, and is full-time, benefit-eligible, with a 3rd shift schedule. Employees in this role have routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI), must maintain strict confidentiality, follow applicable privacy and security standards, and access PHI only when required for job duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing.
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of related experience in a clinical laboratory, data entry, or production.
