Lab Assistant - Third Shift - 18% Differential
About The Position
The Lab Assistant supports patient care by ensuring laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and stored. The role involves recognizing when corrective action is needed and implementing effective solutions, while working in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and required personal protective equipment. The employee is expected to champion safety, compliance, and quality control. This is a full-time third-shift position with 40 scheduled hours per week. The role has routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI); employees receive training on safeguards and must maintain strict confidentiality and follow applicable privacy and security standards, accessing PHI only when required for job duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing.
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of related experience in a clinical laboratory, data entry, or production.
