Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I)
About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I) in Miramar, Florida. The position works Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with the majority of work on the night shift. The role supports laboratory operations by processing specimens, entering test-order data, and preparing specimens for analysis and testing. Pay starts at $18.33 per hour. Employees may be eligible for a shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift; additional details are provided if an offer is extended. Salary offers consider relevant skills, training, experience, education, applicable certifications, market factors, and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexibility to work primarily night shifts; weekends, holidays, on-call work, and overtime may be required based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities
- Enter test-order data.
- Presort specimens and pick up and deliver processed specimens to the laboratory.
- Centrifuge and aliquot specimens.
- Process specimens to be sent to additional facilities.
- Prepare laboratory specimens for various analyses and testing.
- Identify problems and, in some cases, resolve specimen issues such as missing information.
- Understand the relationship between tests ordered and specimens received.
