Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I)
About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I) to support specimen processing and laboratory operations in Miramar, Florida. The role includes entering test orders, sorting and transporting specimens, preparing samples for testing, and processing specimens for other facilities. The position is scheduled Sunday through Thursday, 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Most work is on the night shift; weekends, holidays, on-call work, and overtime may be required based on staffing needs. Pay starts at $18.33 per hour, with potential shift differentials and annual performance bonus eligibility. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; no experience is required, though production or medical environment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Enter test orders; presort specimens and pick up and deliver processed specimens to the laboratory; perform centrifugation and aliquoting.
- Process specimens to be sent to additional facilities.
- Prepare laboratory specimens for various analyses and testing.
- Identify problems and, in some cases, resolve specimen issues such as missing information.
- Understand the relationship between tests ordered and specimens received.
