About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I) to support specimen processing and laboratory operations in Miramar, Florida. The role involves entering test orders, sorting and moving specimens, preparing samples for analysis, and identifying specimen issues. No prior experience is required. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM, with flexibility required; weekends, holidays, on-call work, and overtime may be required based on staffing needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a production or medical environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Enter test orders; presort specimens; pick up and deliver processed specimens to the laboratory; centrifuge and aliquot specimens.
Process specimens to be sent to additional facilities.
Prepare laboratory specimens for various analyses and testing.
Identify problems and, in some cases, resolve specimen issues such as missing information.
Understand the relationship between tests ordered and specimens received.
