About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I) in Tucker, Georgia. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, and involves preparing and processing laboratory specimens for testing and additional facilities. The role requires attention to detail and organization. No prior experience is required; candidates with production or medical-environment experience are preferred. Weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime work may be required based on staffing needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Flexibility to work primarily night shifts and, based on staffing needs, weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.

Previous experience in a production or medical environment.

Responsibilities

Enter test orders.
Presort specimens and pick up and deliver processed specimens to the laboratory.
Centrifuge and aliquot specimens.
Process specimens to be sent to additional facilities.
Prepare laboratory specimens for various analyses and testing.
Identify problems and, in some cases, resolve issues with specimen types, such as missing information.
Understand the relationship between tests ordered and specimens received.
