About The Position

Mercy Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory Department at Clermont Hospital. The role draws blood samples from patients, prepares specimens for laboratory testing, and performs clerical work to help maintain an efficient department. Duties include order entry, looking up results, generating reports, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner. The position requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification.
• One year of phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community members respectfully and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match each patient's identity with the correct service.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
