About The Position

The Kitchen Helper supports the culinary team with dishwashing, sanitation, cleaning, and routine meal preparation and service-support tasks. The role helps keep the kitchen and dining service areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready to provide service to residents and guests. This is an hourly, non-exempt position reporting to the Culinary Services Director, Executive Chef, or another designated Culinary Services leader. The listed pay rate is $16.00.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Prior food service, kitchen, or hospitality experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with sanitation standard operating procedures.
Safely operate dishwashing equipment and wash, clean, and store kitchen and food-service equipment and utensils.
Maintain cleaning supplies, monitor chemical dispensers, use required safety equipment, and remove kitchen trash and refuse as needed.
Support meal preparation with routine tasks, including washing and preparing produce, assembling salads, plating desserts, portioning or arranging items, and assisting with tray setup.
Assist servers with side work and routine setup so dining areas and service stations are ready for meal service.
Assist with room-service tray delivery and deliver and retrieve meal carts to and from satellite kitchens or designated service areas.
Remove soiled dishes from dining areas during meal service and return them to the dishwashing station.
Participate in required in-service training and follow applicable federal, state, and local regulations and community policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
