Kitchen Helper
About The Position
Pennyrile Allied Community Services, Inc. seeks a Kitchen Helper to support meal service and kitchen operations. The role includes serving meals, preparing food and desserts, assisting with tray-line setup, and cleaning and sanitizing kitchen and dining areas. Food preparation must follow recipes and menus, with particular attention to therapeutic diets and facility needs. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Employment is contingent on successfully completing a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen. Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to bend and reach to organize shelves.
- Successfully complete a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities
- Serve meals, clear and wash dishes, wipe tables, and perform other cleaning tasks.
- Set up the tray line and assist with tray-line preparation.
- Assist with meal and dessert preparation.
- Prepare food items according to recipes and menus, particularly for therapeutic diets.
- Ensure daily food production meets facility needs and residents’ therapeutic diets.
- Prepare food items using standardized recipes.
- Store, date, and label leftovers.
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans.
- Clean and sanitize food carts.
- Return trays, lids, plates, and other items to their proper storage areas.
- Clean the kitchen, including food-preparation areas and refrigerators.
- Set dining-room tables.
