Kitchen Assistant / Dishwasher
About The Position
Claiborne Senior Living is hiring a Kitchen Assistant / Dishwasher to help create a welcoming, high-quality dining experience for residents. This role supports kitchen and dining operations by transporting, washing, sanitizing, and storing dishes and equipment; maintaining clean and organized work areas; assisting with kitchen breakdown and cleaning; and supporting dining room service when needed. The position also involves following sanitation and safety standards, communicating concerns about resident well-being to a supervisor, and interacting professionally and warmly with residents, families, and guests. The role is suited to someone who takes ownership of their work, acts with integrity, values teamwork, and wants to make a meaningful contribution in a fast-paced senior living community.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and safety.
- Team player with a positive, reliable attitude.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Previous restaurant or dining experience preferred.
- Experience working with seniors is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Transport dishes, utensils, and equipment to and from the kitchen.
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store kitchen items.
- Keep the dish room, kitchen, and dining areas clean and organized.
- Assist with kitchen breakdown and daily cleaning tasks.
- Support dining room service when needed.
- Follow sanitation and safety standards to maintain a safe environment.
- Interact with residents, families, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Communicate concerns about resident well-being to a supervisor.
- Work as part of a team to keep operations running smoothly.
