Kids Team Member (SLK)

About The Position

This foundational position supports Gateway Kids ministry and serves during every service. Team Members may serve in Preschool, Elementary, or Check-In. Preschool and Elementary Team Members monitor and engage with children, distribute lesson and game items, and help children participate in the service. Team Members may be trained and developed to teach lessons or MC Elementary services, leading children through activities, transitions, games, and other service elements with energy, confidence, and age-appropriate communication. Check-In Team Members greet families, check in families already in the Rock system, and provide a high level of customer service during the check-in process. Team Members must watch one leadership video within their first two months of hire and one additional leadership video each quarter thereafter. Employees must be or become members of Gateway Church upon employment. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

Demonstrate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and model Christian character, integrity, and appropriate behavior for children.
Enjoy working with children and demonstrate care, patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for helping them grow in their faith.
Prioritize each child's safety and well-being and consistently follow Kids Ministry safety policies, procedures, and supervision guidelines.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with children, parents, Serve Team members, and leadership.
Demonstrate strong time-management and multitasking skills.
Be a member of Gateway Church or become a member upon employment.
Meet the described physical demands: regularly sit or stand for long periods, occasionally kneel or crouch, lift or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Monitor and engage with children in Preschool or Elementary settings.
Distribute lesson and game items.
Help lead children in service engagement.
May teach lessons or MC Elementary services after training and development, leading activities, transitions, games, and service elements.
Greet families at Check-In.
Check in families who are already in the Rock system.
Provide customer service to children and families during the check-in process.
Complete one leadership video within the first two months of hire and one new leadership video each quarter thereafter.
Follow Kids Ministry safety policies, procedures, and supervision guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
