About The Position

Columbia Gym’s KidSpace is looking for a part-time Shift Coordinator who is enthusiastic, outgoing and enjoys working with children and families. The KidSpace Shift Coordinator will be working with children ages 6 weeks to 13 years as an interim care provider while parents use the fitness club. The position will also work as a party attendant. We host a variety of high-energy parties for kids of all ages! Applicants must also be able to communicate positively and effectively with children and their parents and enthusiastically lead games. Enthusiasm and a happy demeanor are key for this position. The position requires being friendly and having a customer service-focused attitude, and also meeting physical demands such as sitting on the floor, standing for a long period of time, kneeling and being able to lift 50 pounds.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have high school diploma or equivalent
Must have successfully completed six semester hours of approved training in education, recreation, child development, or related field — OR 90 clock hours of approved child care training.
Must have or be able to obtain current certification in First Aid and Community CPR
Must work a variety of mornings, night and weekend shifts approximately 12-18 hours a week
Able to communicate positively and effectively with children and their parents
Being friendly and having a customer service-focused attitude
Meeting physical demands such as sitting on the floor, standing for a long period of time, kneeling and being able to lift 50 pounds.
