About The Position

Guitar Center is hiring a part-time Keyboard Music Teacher for Store 310 in West Des Moines, Iowa. The Music Teacher provides lessons according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum and helps students continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music. The role contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect while providing an excellent customer experience. The teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, supports customer service as needed, and builds long-term student relationships. They also communicate regularly with students and families about progress and goals, recognizing parents’ knowledge of their children as music learners.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the applicant is proficient, such as keyboard.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area the applicant will teach.

Responsibilities

Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Help provide customer service as needed and create a positive experience that builds and maintains long-term students.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships.
Share students’ progress and goals with students and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
