The Key Relationships Officer cultivates, pitches, and stewards existing and prospective major donors, building meaningful relationships through virtual and in-person visits and communication about charity: water’s priorities and donor impact. The officer manages a portfolio of supporters capable of giving $10,000 or more annually, with a goal of raising $1–3 million in annual revenue once fully onboarded, and contributes to the Key Relationships department’s collective $45 million FY27 goal. The position develops a metrics-driven portfolio strategy, maintains accurate CRM records, finds creative ways to demonstrate donor impact and appreciation, and coordinates regional events. It also requires becoming an expert in charity: water’s programs and staying informed about international Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) issues. The officer reports to the Director of Key Relationships and collaborates with the Key Relationships team and the wider organization. The role is remote, with a preference for candidates in the Northeast, and requires regular travel within the United States.
