About The Position

This is a seasonal position working Early November – December 24, 2026. The position is responsible for recruiting, training, coordinating, and monitoring the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers to ensure ample staff to meet location needs. This includes preparing records and reports, and potentially driving a Salvation Army vehicle to transport kettle workers and pick up kettles.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to become and remain certified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Valid State Driver’s License required, with ability to meet Salvation Army driving requirements for insurance purposes and remain qualified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle throughout the course of employment in this position.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

Responsibilities

  • Interviews, recruits, screens and selection of bell ringing staff and volunteers ensuring all sites are covered effectively.
  • Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
  • Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service; answers questions, concerns or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person or by phone.
  • Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program; provides staff and volunteers with documentation of the hours worked.
  • Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition; prepares and maintains special event records for future reference.
  • Meets with community leaders and organizations and discusses Salvation Army needs.
  • Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers.
  • Assists with counting, recording and depositing of kettle funds.
