About The Position

To coordinate the daily operations of the Crystal Lake Corps Christmas Red Kettle Campaign, ensuring kettle locations are appropriately staffed, employees and volunteers are supported, routes and equipment are coordinated, campaign information is accurately maintained, and operations are conducted efficiently and with financial integrity.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s license/MVR clearance.
  • Willing to promote and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, procedures, processes, and policies.
  • Ability to coordinate employees and volunteers professionally.
  • Ability to use computers, databases, Golden, email, and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential employee, volunteer, donor, and financial information.
  • Demonstrated integrity, reliability, flexibility, and sound judgment.
  • Must be able to lift and transport kettle equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to use standard office equipment, stand and walk as needed, and sit for extended periods while driving.
  • Must be able to travel to kettle locations and drive as required for campaign operations.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, interview, screen, and process paid bell ringers and assist with volunteer recruitment.
  • Maintain kettle system (Golden) for volunteers, kettle sites, schedules, routes, income, and statistics.
  • Schedule paid and volunteer bell ringers and maintain effective kettle site coverage.
  • Coordinate daily communication with bell ringers, volunteers, drivers, staff, and Corps Officers.
  • Train paid and volunteer bell ringers on etiquette, safety, Army protocol, and expectations.
  • Prepare driver routes and coordinate kettle equipment distribution, collection, and inventory.
  • Maintain accurate kettle income and statistics and follow Corps Officer expense approval procedures.
  • Drive assigned kettle routes each morning and evening, including transporting bell ringers and kettle equipment; resolve daily campaign issues and provide additional route coverage as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
