This position is responsible for recruiting, training, coordinating, and monitoring the work of employees and volunteer bell ringers, ensuring ample staff to meet location needs. The role involves preparing records and reports regarding the same. Key responsibilities include interviewing, recruiting, screening, and selecting bell ringing staff and volunteers to ensure all sites are covered effectively. The Kettle Coordinator plans, schedules, and assigns work, instructs on proper methods, and checks work for accuracy and compliance with Salvation Army policies. They maintain contact with staff and volunteers, address concerns, and recognize workers. The role also involves preparing and maintaining records and databases for daily kettle income, preparing reports on the kettle program's status, and providing documentation of hours worked. Planning and preparing special events, including recognition plaques and certificates, and maintaining special event records are also part of the duties. The position requires meeting with community leaders and organizations to discuss Salvation Army needs and driving Salvation Army vehicles to deliver and collect kettles and supplies. Assisting with counting, recording, and depositing kettle funds is also a responsibility. Duties are usually performed seated, with sitting relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Duties include extensive driving to and from kettle locations, estimated at 50-75% of work time.
