About The Position

Support manufacturing operations and the Kaizen department through the fabrication, repair, or modification of auxiliary equipment. The role is based at YKTA in Madison, Alabama, and is a full-time day-shift position. Work takes place in an industrial office and plant setting, with frequent movement throughout the plant and exposure to high noise levels and equipment used in stamping, welding, and Ecoat environments.

The team member must follow safety policies and procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and maintain regular attendance. They must also be flexible to work in all areas and perform duties as needed to help YKTA accomplish its goals and objectives.

Requirements

• One or more years of hands-on welding and general fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, and the capabilities of tooling and fabrication equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 33 pounds at times.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of prolonged standing and potentially repetitive reaching, pulling, bending, and overhead lifting.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and wear required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personal and workplace safety by following all safety policies and procedures and wearing required PPE.
• Operate cutting torches, welding equipment, a drill press, saws, plasma cutters, grinders, and other hand tools; be able to become certified to operate a forklift and Genie boom.
• Repair containers, dollies, parts racks, and carts using welding and other fabrication equipment.
• Fabricate parts racks, parts carts, part stands, and similar items from scratch.
• Weld parts racks, containers, parts carts, and related items.
• Fabricate other items requested to support production.
• Perform miscellaneous duties to help departments implement Kaizens.
• Complete daily 5S activities in the Kaizen shop.
• Maintain regular attendance and be flexible to work in all areas and perform duties as needed.
