Part-Time K-12 Math & ELA Tutor (Kalamazoo, MI)
About The Position
Study Smart Tutors is hiring an in-person, part-time tutor to teach Math and English Language Arts to students in grades K–12 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The tutor will provide support to small and large groups, adapt to new materials and teaching strategies, and communicate consistently with Study Smart Tutors staff. Tutors can access information about class assignments and will partner with the Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies. The schedule calls for flexible availability Monday through Friday during or after school hours. Study Smart Tutors works with partners to promote educational equity, access, and student success through academic support. The organization emphasizes culturally responsive support, community partnerships, and inclusive learning environments. The role requires a completed four-year degree and in-person availability. Teaching certification is strongly preferred, and teaching or tutoring experience is strongly desired. Candidates must complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting depending on location. Pay is $30–$35 per hour. Onboarding, training, preparation, and support are paid at $22 per hour.
