About The Position

Math Corps is hiring Math Tutors to serve students in local schools during the 2026–27 school year. Tutors lead small-group math practice, working with up to three students at a time for 20–30 minutes. They follow a schedule to serve all assigned students, help students return to their classrooms between sessions, and encourage students as they develop math skills and confidence. Training and ongoing coaching are provided.

Positions run from January 2027 through June 2027. Full-time members serve 35 hours per week, with fewer hours during weeks with holidays or school release days. Daytime hours correspond to school start and end times, Monday through Friday. Part-time positions of 25 or 15 hours per week are also available. Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a stipend every two weeks at $17.78 per hour served, along with the listed benefits and education awards.

Requirements

• Be dependable and have a history of good attendance.
• Be able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Have basic computer skills, such as using email and navigating online.
• Be fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
