About The Position
Study Smart Tutors is hiring a part-time tutor to provide in-person Math and English Language Arts (ELA) support to students in grades K–12 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tutors provide support to small and large groups, adapt to new materials and teaching strategies, and maintain consistent communication with Study Smart Tutors staff. They partner with the Education team to develop comprehensive learning strategies for students. The role offers flexible availability Monday through Friday during or after school hours.
Requirements
- Completed four-year degree.
- Availability to work in person.
- Flexible availability Monday through Friday during or after school hours.
- Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting depending on location.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching certification is strongly preferred.
- Teaching or tutoring experience is strongly desired.
Responsibilities
- Teach Math and ELA to students in grades K–12.
- Provide tutoring support to small and large groups of students.
- Use information about students’ class assignments to inform tutoring support.
- Adapt to new materials and teaching strategies.
- Maintain consistent communication with Study Smart Tutors staff.
- Partner with the Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies to students.
